Refer to the this Russian/CIS "callword" aero net, it seems that at least the players from TKM move away from their callwords and call them with their real name. Now that net using callwords and real locations at the same time on the same frequency. Before they have different channels for "callword" and "location name". BTW, Who is the operator for this net? What is the name of this net / aero system ?? The vessel callsign HNTR not found anywhere.... And after my questioning I got a report for one of these Ute (no-CB) stations on 27 MHz. A local hospital with callings like "Doctor XXX please come to room 23" etc. Seems that there is no "central" person who calls each time, but that all "users" could call. Maybe they have a special internal telephone-prefix-number and that all calls via this number were delivered on the air via the pager TX ? I found an entry for PFCP as "Fixed Central Production Platform" (Platforma FixA? Centrala de ProducA?ie). Is that the Jupiter platform? YQFT (not found in ITU's MARS database)? Or another one?? The "BAZA PETROMAR" is the HQ in Constanta? Are they simplex? No sign from any "QSO partner" recognized. Question: Seems that the Canadians do not report their "smaller" vessels/ "Pleasure ships" callsigns to the ITU? As I often did not find them in difference to other countries... 25 July 2007 Another international broadcasting shortwave site is to close at the end of the current shortwave broadcast season. The American Federation of Government Employees, Local 1812, says that the Broadcasting Board of Governors has announced the closure of the Delano, California transmitting station. The closure is scheduled for October 30, 2007 [Sic. Probably means Sunday 28 October]. Employees will remain on the payroll until January 5, 2008. This news hardly comes as a surprise, as the closure has been rumoured for months. Kim Andrew Elliott notes that the site is currently used for Radio Marti, VOA Spanish & Creole, and Special English to Latin America.
