GENERAL SUMMARY Manages the team of 5 to 10 software developers, which is extension of the Integrated Systems and Components team (ISC) in Saint-Petersburg. Responsible for developing work plans, establishing technical objectives, assigning tasks, and managing groups/teams. Maintains schedules and coordinates activities of an entire group or department. Provides guidance to employees doing engineering design, development, and implementation work by establishing goals that are aligned with established policies and standards. Monitors the completion of tasks within time and cost constraints and ensures that technical and functional objectives are met. Identifies and recommends changes to established practices and policies. Regularly interacts with supervisors, peer managers, and employees within and beyond a particular function. Requires in-depth technical and operational knowledge within area of responsibility.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the daily activities of individual contributors; accountable for results; responsible for establishing goals and objectives for the work group; typically manages groups with similar technical or functional responsibility.
Interfaces with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs and technical knowledge.
Collaborates cross-functionally with engineers and other engineering groups, including test engineers; voluntarily shares information, fosters teamwork and collaboration.
Communicates progress toward career development and goals.
Accountable for HR processes and actions.
May be accountable for managing a budget.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Good technical expertise in the area of software development for complex software systems (5-7 years)
Good Communication skills, including written and spoken English.
Excellent interpersonal skills, experience in managing software development teams of 5 and more people (2-4 years)
