Российский лидер компания «Т8» и мировой лидер в производстве оптического волокна компания OFS объединили усилия и получили результат мирового уровня – продемонстрирована передача в 8 Тбит/с  DWDM системе ПУСК сигналов 40G и 100G в спектральных каналах на расстояние 2000 км.

ALLIANCE OF LEADERS IN RUSSIA: T8 AND OFS
DEMONSTRATE SUCCESSFUL ERROR-FREE 100 Gb/s together with 40Gb/s TRANSMISSION OVER 2000 KM IN 8 Tb/s DWDM SYSTEM

Moscow, Russia, May 10, 2012 - OFS, a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of innovative fiber-optic network products, and T8, a leading Russian designer, manufacturer and supplier of DWDM transmission equipment announced a new record in error-free 100G together with 40G multi-channel transmission over 2000 km of OFS optical fiber. The demonstration is enabled by the new 100G dual-polarization quadrature phase shift keying (DP-QPSK) aggregation transponder developed by T8 and OFS AllWave® Zero Water Peak (ZWP) optical fiber.

The achieved result is the basis for the commercial use of long-haul DWDM systems with total capacity 8 Tb/s.

“This successful trial was possible due to the hard-workof T8’s R&D team who used the most innovative telecommunication solutions: 100G DP-QPSK modulation format, polarization multiplexing and SoftFEC, signal processing for automatic dispersion compensating up to 50 000 ps/nm. The transponder has the best critical condition of signal quality in the world: optical signal noise ratio (OSNR) tolerance =12,5 dB. The T8 transponder allows 100G signals to be successfully carried over networks originally optimized for 10G or 40G DWDM traffic.  We also demonstrated 100G DP-QPSK and 40Gnon-return to zero differential phase-shift keying (NRZ-DPSK) transmission with a 50GHz grid. These good results were possible due to cooperation with the world’s leading supplier of optical electronic components and optical fiber – Furukawa Electric/OFS,”said Vladimir Treshchikov, T8 General Director during live demonstration of 100G transmission.

Alexander Mikilev, Marketing Director of OFS Russia, added, “The new achievement demonstrates a good example of cooperation between our companies and shows the correctness of the technical solution of the DWDM system developed and the proper proven transmission media, Zero Water Peak fiber».

“This is the second step which we have made together with T8 and this transmission accomplishment,” said Michael Pavlychev, the General Director of OFS office in Russia.  We have already demonstrated 40G transmission via 2000km earlier this year and this is now the second step: 100G together with 40G transmission.
