Вопрос-ответ с Майком Шинодой из журнала Blender: «Насколько
крут Майк Шинода».
- - Когда-нибудь разносил комнату отеля?
- Ага, было дело. В Лондоне я сел на стол со стеклянной столешницей, и она, треснув, рассыпалась. Мы не хотели за него платить. Разобрали его по частям и рассовали запчасти по комнате.
- - Самый убойный слух о тебе.
- Одно время говорили, что я женился на порно-звезде.
- - В доме какой самой крутой звезды напивался?
- У P.Diddy
- - Номер какой самой крутой зведы у тебя в мобильнике?

- - Когда-нибудь попадал в автоаварию?
- Я не спал 2 ночи и попытался поехать на машине. Я уснул в тачке на скорости 120 км/ч, пересёк напролом 4 полосы, никого не задев, и разбил свою машину.
- - А преступника у себя дома покрывал?
- Да, Джэкоби Шеддикс из Papa Roach. Полиция искала его по подозрению в участии в беспорядках.
- - В туре проблемы были?
- Мы были в баре, в Токио. Я в хлам напился, вышел на улицу, присел на газон и уснул. Мои друзья уехали без меня, а в 4 утра владелец бара нашёл меня и разбудил.

По словам Майка Шиноды (пост в форуме Fort Minor Militia), он готовит ремиксы трэков Fort Minor, которые эксклюзивно выложит на сайте официального фан-клуба Fort Minor - FortMinorMilitia.com. Правда непонятно, что имел ввиду Майк, говоря что это произойдёт «в этом году»: то ли он имел ввиду календарный год, который заканчивается 31 декабря, то ли год существования фан-клуба.
Майк Шинода спродюсировал (то есть выбрал трэки, которые можно послушать на альбоме) диск «Rock Phenomenon». Этот mash-up альбом, записанный DJ'ями Vlad и Rock Raida, представляет собой сборник рэп и рок-трэков, замешанных вместе (в том числе есть «Linkin Park Vs. David Banner»).

Качайте трэк с альбома «Rock Phenomenon» (см. новость за 19.12.05) - «Linkin Park Vs. David Banner». Сразу стоит заметить, что трэк средненький, почти не цепляет, очередной mash. Весит 2,3 Mb, не убудет. Ссылку на весь альбом можной найти здесь.
21 декабря был чат с Честером, LPU. Результаты таковы:
- Я бы сказал, что после прослушивания некоторых музыкальных идей
Майка, после обмена мнениями и какими-то новыми идеями, на следующий
день я не могу идти в студию из-за того, что кричу очень сильно. На
альбоме будет МНОГО крика. Похоже, мой крик с каждым разом становится
всё жёстче, он всё более пробивной. После работы с Майком над новой
музыкой я напрямиг иду домой, спать.
- Я помалкиваю о своём сольном альбоме из-за того, что мы решили
засесть в студии - писать новый альбом Linkin Park, а LP всегда в
первую очередь. А что касается моего альбома, я играл на гитаре, на
клавишных, я делал сэмплирование и пел. Райан, Амир, Фу и я вместе
записывали этот альбом. Проект называется Snow White Tan, я забрасывал
идеи насчёт названия самого альбома, но пока он так и остался без
названия. Как только окончательно будет определена дата релиза, все об
этом узнают. Вообще, я написал музыку и тексты ко всем песням. Другие
ребята, с которыми я работаю, также внесли посильную лепту в создание
пластинки. Но в песнях звучу только я, они не записывались со мной.
Альбом по сути отличается от Linkin Park. Даже то, как я пою,
отличается, это моё личное звучание. И это можно сказать обо всём, что
можно будет услышать.
На время записи сольного альбома я поселился у Райана Шака. У нас постоянно были вечеринки. Люди приходили, слушали. Очень расслабляющая атмосфера. Записывали всё в одной комнате. В сторонке мог сидеть мой ребёнок и играть в видеоигры. С LP такое просто не допустимо. Linkin Park - это машина, хорошо отлаженная гоночная машина, очень качественная и шикарно выглядящая.
Что касается трэка «Morning After», который будет использован в качестве саундтрека к фильму «Другой мир: Эволюция», то звучание его не будет похоже на версию с моего сольника. Амир и Фу сделали ремикс на «Morning After», получился тяжёлый и немного электронный трэк, который лучше вписывается в концепцию фильма.

Кстати, номинировавшиеся на Radio Music Awards 2005 Linkin Park и JZ за «Numb/Encore» так ничего и не получили, чего и следовало ожидать.

Прошлогодняя серия видео с рождественскими историями Феникса, Честера и
Роба. Первая - история Феникса:
У меня есть шрам над правой бровью, сейчас не могу показать, где
точно. Мне, вроде, было лет 5, я был так рад, что мне подарили такого
монстра - плюшевого мишку, высотой он был с меня, около 4 футов. Я
бежал по холлу, споткнулся о его ногу и разодрал бровь. Рождественское
утро я провёл в больнице, 6 часов там просидели. Мне наложили 10 швов.

Рождественские истории Честера:
1) «Рождественским утром моя собака сидит в коридоре, а вторая прыгает
на неё, огрызается. Мы их разняли, я пристегнул свою собаку в комнате.
Прихожу через час, а она всё ещё напугана. Я подумал: ‘Хм, прошёл час,
пора бы ей забыть про случившееся.’ Я пошёл погладить её, и моя рука
покрылась кровью. ‘Отлично, рождественское утро, а моя собака в крови.
Где же она поранилась?’ Смотрю, а на её шее рана длинной с мой палец и
глубиной с собачий клык».
2) «Меня там чуть не стошнило. Это было омерзительно. Было похоже, что
её голова вот-вот отвалится. Вот знаете, когда в фильмах кто-то
отрубает другому голову, и неожиданно эта голова так медленно сползает.
Мне показалось, что именно это произойдёт с её головой. Итак, тем
утром мы отвезли мою собачку в ветеринарную лечебницу, ей наложили 20
швов вокруг шеи, а моя мама чувствовала себя виноватой весь день (дело
происходило дома у мамы Честера, у которой также есть собака).
Охренительное было рождество».

Стали известны детали примирения между Linkin Park и
Warner Music Group:
LP получили задаток за будущий альбом в размере 15 млн $, и лицензионный
платёж компанией составит 20% прибыли, вырученной от продажи альбома.
Контракт обязывает Linkin Park выпустить ещё 5 альбомов под лейблом
Warner (то есть осталось 5, сам контракт был подписан ещё в 2000-м году и
изначально ребата согласились на 11 релизов). Linkin Park уже выпустили 6
дисков: «Hybrid Theory», «Frat Party At The Pankake Festival»,
«Reanimation», «Meteora», «Live In Texas» и «Collision Course». Новое
соглашение с Warner, похоже, больше раскрепощает ребят в творческом
плане, т.к. недавно было заявлено, что Майк Шинода сам будет
продюсировать новый альбом, релиз которого запланирован на середину
2006.

Трэк сольного альбома Майка Шиноды - «The Rising Tied» -
«Where'd You Go» всё-таки станет официальным третьим синглом
Fort Minor («Remember The Name» «как бы» неофициальный, сделан для
фанов).
У самой Холли Брук, принимавшей участие в записи «Where'd You Go», во
второй декаде января будет небольшой тур по 4 городам штата Калифорния,
США. Её дебютный альбом «Like Blood Like Honey» выходит в апреле
2006.

occassions, you can write some lyrics and it works better on some
other melody later, but for me melody is always most important and
it comes first, and makes the story that the lyrics come around

kicking around ideas on new music, put it this way, I couldn't go
into the studio the next day because of all the screaming I
did.

much write the same way. The only difference when writing our own
stuff is you are on your own. If you find yourself stuck on
something you don't have the other person to help you so it's more
difficult. Mike is a great writer

write, the workload is a little lighter (not much but a little)
when we write together.

and you do it in the arena we're doing it, we're up against the
best people in the world, we want to be the best in the world, you
can't be afraid to do it.

doing it for everyone else.

Amir and Fu did a remix version of the song that's not as heavy
and is a little more electronically driven, but fits the style of
the movie better than the original version, that will be on my
record.
