Travel Insurance Canada

Medical Insurance On-lineOur province didn’t get much luck this summer, when it comes to sunny weather and so many British Columbians are heading for vacations in other provinces or countries. When buying your plane ticket or preparing your car for a road trip, remember to get travel insurance for yourself and your family. Many can probably still recall the unfortunate story of a Victoria couple, which went on their honeymoon to Mexico and for some reason, forgot to get insurance. It would have cost them just $20. Later they were collecting donations from all over the world, because of the insane medical bills they have accrued.

Canada consists of 10 provinces and 3 territories. Medical insurance in every single one of those provinces is completely diverse. Residents of a different province do not get the samecoverage as in their own province. That’s why insurance companies offer ‘Out of Province’ insurance. This type of insurance costs much less than ‘Out of Country” insurance and at times less than a dollar a day. That dollar could save you from financial burden in case of medical woes outside of your province.

If you are traveling internationally, I recommend checking your ‘work benefits’ plan, as it may offer travel medical insurance and so you might be covered for all your trips. If you are purchasing tickets with a credit card, call the credit card company and see if your card includestravel insurance. Double check the expiry date for your policy, and if the coverage ends before the end of your trip, buy top-up insurance for the remaining time. It will only cost you a few dollars, but will help protect you from extra expenses in case of an emergency.

If you do not have insurance, you can buy it online at any time on our websitewww.arbetovinsurance.com. If you have any questions, our professional staff will be happy to help you. We work with most of the insurance companies in Canada and therefore can provide you with a large variety of insurance products. Just ask any of us to help you with your selection.

A little while ago a lady came by to our office, wishing to buy insurance for her trip to Australia. On her way there, she had plans to stop in U.S to visit her son. The trip was supposed to be 34 days long. After getting a quote of $256 from a travel company, offering her coverage for her travel from U.S to Australia, she came to us. Upon understanding the woman’s travel plans, our staff member explained that the policy she was offered at the travel agency would not work, as travel insurance only works when leaving Canada, she found a policy that would cover her from the moment she leaves the country until the day she comes back. The price for that policy ended up being much lower. Statistics show that the services of our insurance agency could significantly help our clients save money on medical travel insurance.

Super Visa Approval Rate Now at 83 percent!

Over 3,500 Parent and Grandparent Super Visa applications have, at this time, been approved since the program was launched in December of 2011. The overall approval rate for the Super Visa is 83 percent according to the Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney.

“The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa is a great success,” said Minister Kenney. “Our Government is committed to family reunification. I’m happy to see that the program is growing and that more and more eligible parents and grandparents are getting the opportunity to spend longer periods of time with their loved ones in Canada.”

The process to apply for a Super Visa is easy and uncomplicated. Along with their application, applicants must demonstrate that their host child or grandchild in Canada meets the required minimum income level and submit proof that they have purchased private medical insurance from a Canadian company with coverage of $100,000 or more, for one year. They will also need to undergo the Immigration Medical Examination before being given the visa. Almost all of Super Visa applicants who met these requirements also went on to meet all other admissibility criteria which are obligatory for all visa applicants.

When the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa was first introduced, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) said they would issue Super Visas, on average, within eight weeks of the application. As of May 13, CIC continued to meet that processing-time goal.

Job Search in BC. Accountant.

The demand for accountants is strong and will be 30% faster than the demand for all other occupations in Canada.

The number of factors is driving this growth:

  • New taxation regulations and accountability measures created more complex financial reporting environment.
  • Increasing amount of new small businesses, contracting out accounting services.

Accounting is a financially advantageous occupation being able to command a salary of 60, 000 to 80, 000 per year.

Despite that factor, the key consideration for individuals considering this career is to clearly decide if it is a career definitely for you. This occupation is very contradictory. Before making any decision go for the career counseling. Pay attention, if this job fits your goals, values and life style.

There are three distinct professional designations for accountants in Canada: certified management accountants (CMAs), certified general accountants (CGAs) and chartered accountants (CAs)/ Accountants may also be non-designated if they have not earned a professional designation. More detailed information about the differences between duties you can see at the following link: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2006/welcome.aspx).

The table below projects the growth for accountants between 2008 and 2013 and will equal 1.3%. It is important to note that this growth will be healthy, because it is only an illustration of the growth of new jobs and does not reflect new positions being created as a result of retirements.

Approximately 1,860 new positions will emerge in British Columbia over the next five years

Due to the Lower Mainland’s large population, the vast majority of these jobs will be created in this area.

(According to BC Labour Market Report, 2009)

Construction Services Sector Growth Rate for All Industries Growth Rate for Construction Percent of Local Workers in 2008 Percent of Local Workers in 2013

The more you know, the bigger the payoff. Keep yourself up to date check out some resources, like Guide to Online Schools. Accounting will be growing at a rapid pace in the next few years. Never stop learning. Today’s high-paced world has made people busier and less willing to commit their time to a traditional classroom degree program. Working towards an online accounting degree is a great way to keep current.
