QA Engineer (GL-880-01)

GlobalLogic is looking for a talented QA Engineer to work on the full time basis in Kiev office

Responsibilities will include testing the new and existing features/improvements to the customer SDE (Service Delivery Engine), the back-end infrastructure supporting the various wireless handheld devices, including the Hiptop (aka-T-Mobile Sidekick) brand of devices.

Rather than a single product, the back-end service is made up of a variety of software applications written in multiple languages, running on Solaris, Linux and FreeBSD operating systems.

In general, this Engineer's workday will consist of standard QA practices, including bug tracking via out internal bug database, test case preparation and automated test design. However, the most successful Engineer will be able to analyze software behavior at the source code level, going beyond the outward manifestation of defects, to find the true source of issues.

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in testing consumer software
• Experience with Java/J2EE, Perl, C, C++
• Experience with defect tracking system
• Fluent English
• Strong skills in a fast paced, Unix/Linux based software development environment
• Understanding of the role of source control systems, preferably Perforce
• Ability to create and execute test plans on both device client software and UNIX server platforms
• Knowledge of Oracle and relational databases
• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle and scripting or programming skills (i.e. Shell, Perl or Java)
• Capable of writing clear and concise test cases and testing procedures
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to clearly communicate ideas and concept to others

Med Test Engineer (GL-865-05)

GlobalLogic is looking for Med Test Engineer to work on the full time basis in Kiev office.

The person will be part of multi-person team responsible for Product Testing feature enhancements and maintenance fixes for large Telecom application. He/she will be provided with an opportunity to travel to US for 2-3 months onsite customer training.

The main tasks are:

• Working as part of distributed feature team to assess impact, design, implement and test new functionality adhering to quality standards.
• Maintaining and executing existing regression test cases, analyze the results, and provide test metric data.
• Developing and automating new feature test cases (SilkTest and proprietary tool) and tracking test progress (proprietary tool)

The requirements are:

• Experience in testing, especially in testing on-line and/or batch applications
• Good spoken and written English( required to participate in internal technical conference calls on requirements, design and testing)
• Experience in UNIX and Shell programming or C development is a plus
• Experience in mainframe area (OS360/370 MVS, MVS, TSO, ISPF, IMS) is a plus
