Daily backups and transaction log backups recover files after a system failure or user error. But the best strategy is useless if the Domino transaction logging file system reaches full capacity and consequently causes the Domino server to stop. The result can be destroyed databases or corrupted transaction logs, not to mention dissatisfied users. Learn how to avoid the risk of your transaction log disk space reaching full capacity by basing your backup strategy on a clear understanding of all relevant factors and using the calculation-based method demonstrated here. In part 1, learn about the benefits of archive-style logging in making your Domino backups more efficient, gain insight into the relationship between transaction logging and backup intervals, and find out how to arrive at a backup strategy that makes sense for your environment. In part 2, learn the formulas to use in setting your backup strategy.

Get started writing server-side JavaScript functions for your XPages applications. You'll learn how to create and call a server-side function, shortcuts for simplifying your code, and how to extend the same techniques to create other functions based on your knowledge of LotusScript and Lotus @Functions.
Discover how you can dynamically build or alter your users' IBM Lotus Quickr connector entries at login time. Whether you need to accommodate users who log into Quickr from a variety of machines or you require control of users' place entries, you can provide your users' with place entries in their Quickr connectors easily and automatically. Administrators can use the provided code "as is" for a basic level of control over users' connector entries. The code is also flexible enough to serve as the departure point for developers wishing to extend it for more specialized requirements.
I'm get tired of never ending code in agents which are designed to print out HTML. There are usually tons of HTML strings which are mixed with sophisticated logic... this is a real pain in the ass for maintenance developers such as me :) This problem is not for LotusScript only, actually this is pretty common problem and I really like the way how it's been solved in other scripting languages (such as Ruby or JavaScript) - templating (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_processor). I was wondering why something similar is not available for LotusScript and then I decided to handle it and bring a new age for LotusScript developers :D As my favorite templating library for JavaScript is Mustache, great job Chris and Jan (http://mustache.github.com/) I came up with an idea to port it to Lotus script. Hope you enjoy the result as I do :)

This class provides methods for XML structured data processing in Lotus Script. XML structure could be read from files or String variables and/or could be written to files or printed out as Text. There are methods which can be used to modify existing XML structure or XML structure could be built from scratch. Features added since last update: - XML transformation with XSLT - NameSpace support (not fully tested, so use it at your own risk) - DomQuery selector was re-designed Known issues - NotesStream encoding problem when running on server. XSLT dies on special characters like "āčū.." (I didn't find a nice way on how to set "utf-8" encoding for NotesStream without saving it to disk) NOTE: This version isn't backward compatible with the previous one
